The Price Family was transferred to Kamloops in 1996 with the RCMP where Alan began his career in Lacrosse.  Alan became known as "Big Al" not just because of his size but because of his caring attitude towards his team mates.  He truly loved the game not because of the success he achieved but because of the fun he had while playing it.  He played it for fun and to be with his buddies.

Along with his desire to play Lacrosse and Hockey, Alan always took time for his family and friends, always stopping to say thank you and always grateful to those who helped him with his journey.  Alan achieved success at both sports.  He continued to work hard and enjoy both games.  Not only did Alan's stature grow, so did his passion for the game of Lacrosse and Hockey.  Alan sought ways to improve his skills and saw his hard work and dedication realized in his Bantam Hockey year.  At the age of 16, 6'6" tall and 230 pounds, Alan caught the eye of the Kootenay Ice of the Western Hockey League and was invited to their camp in August 2002.

Alan had become known as both a great Lacrosse and Hockey player, but was always known as an even greater friend and as one of those memorable people that will always be admired and remembered.

On July 1, 2002, Alan died suddenly of heart failure at the family farm just west of Kamloops.

Alan lived life with passion and wisdom beyond his years, enjoying each day to its fullest and treating everyone as an equal.  No one ever felt small inside around Alan.  He exemplified what every parent hopes for in a child, what every coach wants in a player, and what we try to be as individuals.  In his short time with us he had gained the respect many will spend their lives trying to attain.  He was always and will always be a player in every sense of the word.

This annual Midget Lacrosse tournament was named in his honour and scheduled to coincide with his birthday.  In this tournament, please remember why we are here; to enjoy family, friends and the spirit of the game that sometimes gets forgotten.  Your son or daughter may not remember the scores or the referees name, but they will remember that they had a great time and enjoyed the world's greatest game...LACROSSE!
