Kamloops Field Lacrosse League

Season Information:

The season runs from September – November.

Teams will have 2 practices a week, with games on Sundays, jamboree style, with all the other age groups. All league play is dependent on the availability of teams from other local associations… travel for league play may be required.

 

Age Groups:

(Age is determined by the age of the child on December 31 of the year of play)

 

U7: 6 & 7 year olds (*exceptions made for younger players on a case by case basis)

U9: 8 & 9 year olds

U11: 10 & 11 year olds

U13: 12 & 13 year olds

U15: 14 & 15 year olds

U18: 16 – 18 year olds

U13 Division is the first year in which there are Provincial Championships at the end of the season, as well as the first year in which players can try-out for Team BC. This continues in U15 and U18 Divisions.

 

Equipment Needed:

Helmet & Cage: Helmet and cage must be CSA for hockey or NOCSAE approved with a chin strap.

Chest Protector: One piece adjustable pad which offers protection for chest and shoulders

Slash Guards/ Elbow Pads: Elbow pads or slash guards provide additional arm protection.

(Optional) Kidney Pads: Light weight wrap around to protect the lower back and kidney area. Used more in box lacrosse.

Athletic Supporter and Cup or Jill Strap.

Gloves: Field/Box lacrosse gloves offer excellent protection.

Lacrosse Stick.

Cleats: Lacrosse specific cleats are not necessary, especially at the younger ages and soccer or football cleats will work.

Mouthguard.
